Fundraiser launched for Meghan Markle's and Prince Harry's 2022 Birthdays

As has become a annual tradition, fans of Meghan and Harry have organized a charity fundraiser to honour the couple's 2022 birthdays. The event is being promoted through members of the  "Sussex Squad" Twitter accounts. Meghan will turn 41 on August 4th and Harry will be 38 on September 15th. For this year Sussex followers have chosen to raise funds for the African based charity Sentebale.

Sentebale was founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso in 2006 as a response to the needs of children and young people in Lesotho. The work of the charity has since expanded into Botswana. The name Sentebale means ‘forget-me-not’ in the Sesotho language, representing a pledge to remember the most vulnerable children in the region.

Per the Sentebale website, children and young people are at the centre of Sentebale’s work. Sentebale empowers young people, ensuring they are safe and confident, able to lead and advocate for themselves and their peers. The work is rooted in values of compassion, respect, sustainability, and accountability. There has been a strong focus on HIV/AIDS, especially through psychosocial support, outreach work into communities and through purpose-built centres where children living with HIV can attend week long camps and receive in-depth support.

Donations can be made at any time through the Sentebale website.
