For Nelson Mandela Day 2022 - Prince Harry & Meghan Markle are to travel to NYC with Harry to give a speech to the UN General Assembly

Social media and UK media sources are reporting that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be travelling to New York City in the coming days, with Prince Harry slated to give a speech to the United Nations General Assembly, NYC on July 18th 2022, which is Nelson Mandela International Day. The theme for 2022 Nelson Mandela commemorations is  “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”

Kind thoughts for Meghan Markle

In 2009, the United Nations General Assembly declared Nelson Mandela’s 18 July birthday Nelson Mandela International Day calling on the people of the world to honour Mandela by helping their communities.

For 2022, the focus and messaging is based on promoting community and home-based gardens, supporting fruit and indigenous tree planting, and creating awareness of the intersections between food security and climate change.
