Meghan Markle is included as one of many inspiring women in a CARE video for IWD 2022 #HerVoiceMatters

Ahead of International Women's Day (IWD) 2022 the worldwide non-profit organization CARE has released a video containing inspiring quotes from a cross-section of women, past and present, who speak to the rights of women and girls to achieve real equality. Meghan Markle is one of the women included in the video.

The short video  contains narrations voiced by various women including tennis player Venus Williams, poet Amanda Gorman, Hilary Clinton, US Vice-President Kamala Harris and Meghan Markle. The words of other famous women such as Ruth Bader-Ginsburg, Dolores Huerta, Sojourner Truth and Gloria Steinem are narrated by regular women and girls.

CARE was originally set up to provide food packages in the aftermath of World War II. Over the years its approach has broadened to address issues beyond yet connected to poverty, such as access to clean water, education, health care, climate change and abuse and discrimination of all types. 

In respect to gender equality CARE believe that society cannot eradicate poverty and achieve social justice while inequality persists, feeling that discrimination against women has negative implications for global security and development, economic performance, food security, health, climate adaptation and the environment, governance, and stability. CARE is committed to supporting equality across all of its work. 

The video has many inspiring quotes by women, including Meghan saying "it is said that girls with dreams become women with vision," with the aim for women to work together with CARE to end injustice against women once and for all.
