Booking.com, a founding partner of Prince Harry's Travalyst sustainable travel initiative, launch Travel Sustainable badge

To help travellers make sustainable choices when booking their holiday and travel accommodations, Booking.com have created a Sustainable Travel Badge that will applied to properties that implement a combination of sustainable practices.

Sustainable properties are measured based on a list of attributes, a list of which can be viewed on the Travalyst.org website, in the areas of:

  • energy use
  • waste creation and management
  • water use
  • protecting nature and
  • supporting the local community
Accreditation of accommodations will take into consideration their location and size and other local factors to create an overall score for the property's sustainable practices.
