Meghan Markle launches her 40th Birthday volunteering initiative in a comedy skit with Melissa McCarthy

To celebrate her 40th Birthday Meghan Markle teamed up with Melissa McCarthy in a comedy skit during which Meghan explains her 40x40 volunteering / mentoring project.

In an accompanying story posted on Meghan's and Prince Harry's website, Meghan explains why she launched this initiative that sees her asking 40 of her friends to commit 40 minutes of their time to mentor women as they re-enter the workforce.

Meghan explains that she is conscious of the millions of women around the world who left the work force in the last 2 years, largely due to COVID-19 issues. Meghan reminds us that women were disproportionately effected by changes to the work place as a result of the pandemic.

Meghan asks us all to join in this project, writing:  "if you are able, please join us and pledge 40 minutes today in service of others in the way that feels right to you. The time that you donate can contribute to a Global Wave of Service and set in motion meaningful impact in our own communities, and across the world."

Archewell Foundation's newly appointed Co-Executive Director gets straight to work

At the start of 2023, Meghan and Harry announced some staffing changes for their Archewell organization that included the appointment of Shauna Nep as a Co-Executive Director of Archewell Foundation (AWF). Shauna, a graduate of the University of British Columbia and having a masters degree from New York University, had most recently worked as a Vice-President of Philanthropy at Scooter Braun’s SB Projects.  Getting straight to work Shauna together with the existing Executive Director, James Holt, signed  Archewell Foundation's just published 2020-2022 Impact Statement .  The impact statement provided a great overview of the work completed by Harry and Meghan's Foundation over the past two years and includes a brief section called "Looking Ahead." Prince Harry joins Dax Shepard and Monica Padman on the podcast Armchair Expert

Prince Harry was a guest of Dax Shepard and Monica Padman in episode 325 of their podcast, Armchair Expert. During the hour and a half episode, the trio touched on many issues relating to trauma, addictions, mental health and emotional well-being.  Harry also spoke about life in the Royal Family (including some notable moments before he married Meghan) and they touched on his reasons for leaving. Harry, Dax and Monica talked about Harry's life in the British Army, press intrusion into family life, and about some of the pros and cons of social media.
