Prince Harry's Travalyst non-profit to hold 2nd Annual Summit, virtually, on July 30th 2020.

The 2020 Travalyst Global Summit will be held virtually on Thursday 30th July. Launched in 2019, Travalyst aims to promote sustainable tourism, with the goals of protecting wildlife; preserving the environment; tourism growth; and thriving communities.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on the travel and tourism sector, shutting down almost all travel and leading to millions of jobs around the world being at risk. The reduction in tourism and travel has caused a direct loss of income to those employed in the industry and has caused a decline in many local and national economies that rely on tourism for a substantial part of their income.

Travalyst acknowledges the need for the travel and tourism to recover from the effects of Coivd-19 whilst wanting to support the industry in building back in a sustainable, equitable and balanced manner.

Prince Harry states on this issue:

“The global pandemic has brought the world to a standstill, and in the process destinations and communities who rely on travel and tourism for their livelihoods are facing a challenging and uncertain reality. Meanwhile, we must remember that the growth of tourism was on an unsustainable trajectory. As the travel and tourism industry begins to recover, we want to learn from those who are keeping communities and sustainability at the heart of what they are doing to build back better.”
Prince Harry
The Duke of Sussex
