Prince Harry video chats from LA with his WellChild UK patronage

During the Easter weekend WellChild Patron, Prince Harry conducted a personal video call with families caring for seriously ill children at home, supported by WellChild, to understand their challenges during the COVID-19 crisis. Also on the call was a WellChild nurse, Rachel Gregory, and WellChild CEO Colin Dyer.

Harry heard of the additional challenges that families with special needs children are facing as a result of the Covid-19 crisis. Their concerns included the fear that their children, many of whom have very vulnerable health conditions, might contract the virus, as well as struggles to obtain sufficient personal protective equipment (PPE). Prince Harry heard how families around the UK are giving emotional support to one another through the charity’s online community, the WellChild Family Tree. Harry got to meet some of the children during the chat.

Prince Harry has been patron of WellChild for more than 10 years. He was keen to learn what he might be able to do to help the charity during this exceptionally difficult time.
