Feeding Britain to receive donation from Meghan Markle & Prince Harry

According to an article in  Town and Country Magazine today, Meghan and Harry have pledged a donation of around one hundred thousand pounds to U.K. Charity Feeding Britain.

The charity is seeing increased demands for its services as a result of issues arising from Covid-19. The money is said to come from funds generated by the BBC broadcast of their royal wedding in May 2018. Meghan and Harry have close connections to this particular charity. They toured one of its programs in Birkenhead in January 2019 when Meghan was pregnant with Archie. The president of the charity is the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who officiated at Meghan and Harry's wedding.

Per the Feeding Britain website their vision is a UK where no one goes hungry. The organization wishes to demonstrate how hunger and its underlying causes can be addressed. The charity uses this learning to advocate for systemic changes to eliminate hunger in the UK.

This mixture of practical assistance with advocacy for longer term change is something that fits in nicely with Meghan and Harry's own philosophies.
