Duchess of Sussex reaches out to her Smart Works patronage via video chat during Covid-19 pandemic

Meghan has been in contact with her patronage Smart Works UK by video chat during the Covid-19 pandemic. The organization has posted a video clip of the Duchess chatting to a client ahead of a job interview together with an updated message from their patron.



The Duchess of Sussex's message goes: "It’s been such an honour to meet and learn from so many talented women in the Smart Works network over the years, and recently to see the amazing work they’re doing to adapt their programs to the reality of this pandemic. Their ability to continue to empower women and help them harness the confidence they need to succeed during this time is inspiring.”

Smart Works has apologized for the disruption in their regular pre-interview services due to Covid-19 health advisories that necessitate both social and physical distancing. The agency however continues to operate a virtual service to those who need it. This consists of a one to one personalized hour of video or phone coaching with one their volunteer coaches. They will re-start wardrobe services as soon as they are able to.
