Vancouver Island Deli Visited by Prince Harry
During Prince Harry's and Meghan's Christmas stay in the North Saanich area on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, locals got a taste of the media interest generated by all things Meghan and Harry. Staff at a local deli, the Deep Cove Market, have been visited by journalists from various worldwide media outlets asking them questions about the royal couple. It appears that Prince Harry stopped in at the Deep Cove Market deli and purchased a club sandwich. Staff members speak of balance, on the one hand being respectful of the privacy of Meghan and Harry whilst also being very excited about the visit. According to media reports one deli employee stated "we often call out extra love when we make a sandwich. So I
did that for Prince Harry as well. Of course, I curtsied when I handed it to
him. That was the only acknowledgement of the fact that I knew who he was."
In a tongue in cheek honour to Prince Harry the market has renamed their clubhouse sandwich the Royal Clubhouse. Staff are hoping that the couple come back. The deli has a face book page and gets lots of good reviews for its fare. Much of the produce sold is sourced locally. The market has organic and gluten free ranges. Worth a visit.
