Prince Harry Breaks Silence about Who Made the Decision to Step Back from Royal Duties

During a speech Prince Harry gave tonight at a fund raiser for his charity Sentebale just prior to singer Lewis Capaldi taking the stage, Prince Harry took the opportunity to address the rumours and speculations in the media about who decided that he and Meghan would step back from royal duties.

Prince Harry clearly stated that it was a decision he made for himself and the family, He was addressing the countless media reports and harsh T.V. interviews by members of Meghan's own family stating that Meghan was the driving force behind the decision. Whilst he admitted he was sad that he had to give up some of his royal appointments and ideally he and Meghan would have been able to continue to serve and work as they have been, just without public funding, that wasn't a workable option. So he was left with no other choice but to make the decision he did. He added that he and Meghan would continue a life of 'service'. Check out the full speech on the @sussexroyal Instagram account.

Sentebale is a charity founded by The Duke of Sussex and Prince Seeiso in 2006 following Prince Harry’s gap year to Lesotho in 2004. The aim, per the charity's website, is to help the most vulnerable children in Lesotho, Botswana and Malawi get the support they need to lead healthy and productive lives.

Sentebale works with local grassroots organisations to help these children – the victims of extreme poverty and the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
