Meghan Markle Making MORE Connections in Vancouver
Yesterday during her trip to Vancouver Meghan also stopped in to visit at the Justice For Girls program.
The work of this group closely aligns with Meghan's work in the field of gender equality and in girls and women's issues. The group posted photos of Meghan's visit on their Twitter account @JFG_Canada and on their website.Justice for Girls was formed in 1999, in response to local, national, and international calls for “girl only” programs and services that acknowledge and address the specific needs and vulnerabilities of girls, particularly in relation to homelessness, poverty, and violence. Justice for Girls would like to try to eliminate violence and poverty in young women’s lives in order to bring about equality. Justice for Girls has had Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2009.
