WellChild Awards in Progress

Meghan and Harry have arrived at the 2019 WellChild Awards at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. 

Photographs of the couple arriving at the ceremony are flooding on-line media sites as I post. Here are a couple of pictures from Hello Magazine and from the U.K. Evening Standard Newspaper. 

 I expect the event will have greater meaning to Meghan and Harry this year now that they are parents themselves.

This is William's (see picture inside) story as posted on the WellChild 2019 Award Winners 

 William, aged 10, from Cheshire, has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a terminal muscle wasting condition. William has never complained about his condition or how it affects him. He just gets on with what he can do when he can, although it restricts him from doing many things he once loved to do. William has a wish list and one of the items on it is for him to become a business man. He designed a t-shirt with the logo ‘Anyone can be a hero’ with a stick man named ‘Anyone’ and has since designed two more. He wants to spread inspirational messages to people. Mum Kelly, who nominated him, said: “He is such an inspiration to so many people and when people meet him".

I know we should not encourage the tabloids to hunt out pictures of Meghan, Harry and Archie, but it was lovely to see a recent pic. of the "Adorable Archie" just ahead of his second birthday on May 6th 2021. And look at Meghan's bump. Baby No.2 is growing nicely and it appears that it won't be long before Archie's sister arrives. Was Archie off to a play date? Archewell Foundation's newly appointed Co-Executive Director gets straight to work

At the start of 2023, Meghan and Harry announced some staffing changes for their Archewell organization that included the appointment of Shauna Nep as a Co-Executive Director of Archewell Foundation (AWF). Shauna, a graduate of the University of British Columbia and having a masters degree from New York University, had most recently worked as a Vice-President of Philanthropy at Scooter Braun’s SB Projects.  Getting straight to work Shauna together with the existing Executive Director, James Holt, signed  Archewell Foundation's just published 2020-2022 Impact Statement .  The impact statement provided a great overview of the work completed by Harry and Meghan's Foundation over the past two years and includes a brief section called "Looking Ahead." Looking ahead, Archewell Foundation (AWF) Executor's say that they will maintain "an unwavering commitment to key issues which have an overwhelming ripple effect on our collective well-being.... including working to

Prince Harry joins Dax Shepard and Monica Padman on the podcast Armchair Expert

Prince Harry was a guest of Dax Shepard and Monica Padman in episode 325 of their podcast, Armchair Expert. During the hour and a half episode, the trio touched on many issues relating to trauma, addictions, mental health and emotional well-being.  Harry also spoke about life in the Royal Family (including some notable moments before he married Meghan) and they touched on his reasons for leaving. Harry, Dax and Monica talked about Harry's life in the British Army, press intrusion into family life, and about some of the pros and cons of social media. Armchair Expert will shortly be moving exclusively to Spotify, the same as Meghan and Harry's own Podcast Archewell.  Click to LISTEN
