UK Women MPs urge media to show 'integrity' in their Reporting about the Duchess of Sussex

British Member of Parliament Holly Lynch and about 70 of her fellow MPs from various political parties have signed a letter to the Duchess of Sussex, written on official House of Commons letterhead, and dated today in which they express their empathy for Meghan's treatment by national media.

The MPs state they feel some stories have represented an invasion of the privacy of the Duchess of Sussex, with some stories apparently only seeking to cast aspersions on Meghan's character.

The MPs write that they expect the national media to have the integrity to know when a story line is in the national interest, and when it is seeking to tear a woman down for no apparent reason. The MPs reflect that some stories have what are described as 'outdated, colonial undertones'.

I think this is an unprecedented letter, sent as it is from a group of cross-party female MPs to a member of the British Royal Family.
